We had our appt today with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Drs at St. V's. It went really well. We had another US performed and the US tech was able to show us both arms, legs, the spine, heart, stomach, head and jaw! We were able to see the baby wiggle around again which was neat too! They did a first trimester screening on us- sounds routine when you visit these Dr's and they performed a nuchal transluency test which screens for Down's syndrome and other genetic disorders and everything came back normal so that was refreshing. He said the bleed is still by the fetus but should be gone by our 20 week US. He reassured us that it actually is a very common thing to have but because typical pregnancies have an US around 18-20 weeks it's usually gone by then and you never even knew it was there. He's pretty sure by our 20 week US it will have dissappeared but they're going to keep an eye on it. I will have to go back in 3 weeks and have another US performed to check my cervical length and be sure it's not thining/shortening and then another US every 2 weeks after that to keep an eye on things. The heartrate was 171 bpm today- fast but healthy!
Here is a picture from our US- it's a profile of baby's head- the white parts are bone formation (jaw, chin, nasal bone, and skull). You can just barely see the heart on the far right side of the picture (it's a darker black spot in baby's chest).
